SAT 14 OCT 11am – 1pm

Come and join us for the much-anticipated return of everyone’s favourite yogi, Kylie Rook. Kylie will be presenting a 3 workshop series running from 5:30 pm Friday 13th – 4:00 pm Saturday 14th October.

This practice is for all advanced beginners to experienced practitioners. Following on from Friday night’s Handstand Vinyasa’ Kylie will take you on the next step of your workshop journey. This time revitalising you with her Spring Cleanse Flow. This practice is a slow vinyasa style practice designed to bring you into a state of moving meditation stimulating the liver, gall bladder, and the vagus nerve.

Having suffered from anxiety and depression from the age of 20, Kylie is a firm believer in the healing power of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and its application within yoga. According to TCM, Spring is a time to focus on the liver and gallbladder and their associated meridian lines. These meridians are about moving Qi around the body. When Qi becomes stagnant we experience frustration, anger, pain, depression, anxiety and immobility or stiffness.
In this workshop, we will look at where these meridians lie. How to work with their energy to become clear on what it is you want in your life, how to let go of the things that are holding you back and perhaps stagnating you. We will also look at the vagus nerve, its effect on the nervous system and how to create a good vagal tone which ultimately makes us more resilient and adaptable to the ups and downs of life.

Kylie discovered yoga during a crossroads in her life and immediately fell in love with its ability to carve a path of recovery, acceptance, strength, and self-love. She believes it compliments her past creative outlets; including a Bachelor of Performing and Screen Arts, love for psychology, a Teaching Diploma in Dance and a Nursing Degree.

She has always been fascinated with anatomy and this passion led her to complete her 500hr Teacher Training with Tiffany Cruikshank and Yoga Medicine. She is also a certified Budokon Teacher (a fusion of Martial Arts and Yoga) and has studied with Noah Maze, Bryce Yoga, Amy Ippolitti, Chakra Vinyasa with Shiva Rea, Thomas Meyers (Anatomy Trains) and just recently also NKT therapy.
